Jewish District

The Joseph’s Town, the Fifth District or the Vanished District – those are names the locals had given to the former Jewish Ghetto of Prague, which gained its fame due to many famous scholars and rabies working here, e.g. Rabbi Löw. The 19th century clearance swept the old medieval layout of the ghetto away, only a few synagogues were left. Nowadays they house collections of The Jewish Museum, which you can enjoy on a walk led by the Jewish Museum experts.
