The main theme of the 26th ICOM General Conference Prague 2022 is “The Power of Museums”.
The 4 main subtopics are: Museums and the Civil Society; Museums and resilience; Museum and leadership; Museums and new technologies.
The topics of the individual sections are determined by the ICOM International Committees – please contact the International Committees with questions about the topics of these sections. For more information and contacts, please visit the Committees’ directory.
Forty excursions to the individual regions of the Czech Republic will take place between 26 and 27 August 2022, when participants will be able to visit dozens of museums and other institutions.
“Hybrid format” means that the main scientific programme of ICOM Prague 2022 will take place both in the traditional (face-to-face) format at the Prague Congress Centre and simultaneously in a virtual environment thanks to the special gCON conference platform.
The hybrid format represents a huge step forward in the organisation of ICOM General Conferences – it promotes the use of modern technology, is in line with sustainable development and offers the opportunity for everyone to participate. Thanks to the virtual library, recordings from the General Conference can also be easily viewed from anywhere and at any time.
