Architect Jožef Plečnik between Slovenia and the Czech Republic
Jožef Plečnik is a Slovenian architect whose works carried out in Ljubljana and Prague between World War I and World War II present an example of a human-centred urban design that contributed to the identity of both cities. UNESCO protects its architectural heritage. The session will connect Slovenia and Check Republic experts who research, protect, and interpret Plečnik’s heritage. Lectures will be held by the greatest theoreticians and specialists in the history of modern architecture. Jožef Plecnik, on the one hand, and a museum specialist will present the nomination process for UNESCO, the outstanding universal value of Plečnik’s work, and different museum practices.
