Castles & palaces: New Blood in Old Veins

Many interiors of castles and manor houses obtained new functions by transforming them into museums. The session focuses on their various approaches: innovative re-interpretations of the collections, polemics of contemporary art, or provocative interventions of modern architecture into reconstructions of historical buildings. “Old meets new” will be reflected in several particular examples in Central Europe, which challenge the expectations of their visitors and change the methodologies of the personnel.
