Multilingualism in ICOM: relevance and technical and financial feasibility of its extension

ICOM aims to involve all its members in its purposes. To be able to express oneself in a familiar language is a condition of equality. Language is the tool of thought: multilingualism within ICOM enriches its debates and its extension will reinforce its central position in the global reflection on museums. The meeting will propose to evaluate the number of members involved for each language and the new technical and financial conditions of a generalization of the translation in at least the 3 official languages.
